The Musicians

The four musicians responsible for the creation of ‘Interpretations’ are all second year students on the BA hons Music production course at Futureworks University in Salford. Between them they bring a wide range of styles of music to the project from Progressive Rock to Rap and Hip-hop; Alt Pop to Indie.

Alternative and Progressive Rock singer-songwriter

David Cummins is an Alternative and Progressive Rock singer-songwriter 40 years in the making. Inspired by iconic musical storytellers like James Taylor and rock giants such as Pink Floyd, David has been performing and writing music since the late seventies and early eighties.

Baxter’s main genre of music is Rap and Hip-Hop

Whilst developing his skills at Futureworks, Bax has enjoyed creating mixed and alternative genre work. For example, his latest song, ‘Mystic’, showcases a Reggae/Trap beat and Rock vocals and 2020’s ‘I Love You’ is a Jazz piece produced with Dave and Joe.

Joe's music combines the genres of indie, alt pop and folk

Inspired by the likes of Frank Ocean, Bon Iver and Slowdive to name a few, Joe combines the genres of indie, alt pop and folk to produce a melancholic dream pop aesthetic. Going by the name “JeSuisJoe” he released his first song ‘With Me’ in 2018 which found its way onto Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds’ Indie playlist.

Sedgi’s influences are drawn from far and wide,

Sedgi’s influences are drawn from far and wide, new and old and cross-genre boundaries: King Krule, The Beatles, Flatbush Zombies are just a few influences from a very long list. Sedgi began learning rock and indie songs on a guitar but over the years developed an affinity for Jazz and Soul and also explores music from all over the world.
