THE GARDEN OF EARTHLY DELIGHTS
By Hieronymus Bosch
‘Interpretations’ showcases the work of four musicians, students at Futureworks University, who have each written their own interpretation of the triptych ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’ painted by Bosch around 1490. Each interpretation was imagined without researching the painting. It is personal to each musician; it is what they see and feel looking at the painting.
Each musician has written a piece of music, and produced a video accompaniment, that reflects their interpretation for this audio-visual art installation on four video screens designed to be shown in the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester.
